On Gratitude and Dissatisfaction

{December 28, 2021}

Here it is, my love, the last Tuesday of 2021.

I hope you’ve taken the time to gaze upon this last year with equal parts gratitude and dissatisfaction.

Gratitude for all that you’ve completed and accomplished, and dissatisfaction for that which you have yet to.

It’s important to note that lower level emotions aren’t always “bad.” They’re often necessary for transformation. The trick is to harness that energy and point it forward for the purpose of growth.

With that, dear friend, here are your last Twofers of 2021…

- 2 Ideas from others -

“Too many problems are simply dismissed as ‘too hard.’ Of course they’re hard! Problems are life’s essential feedstock. Without problems to solve, there is no motivating tension; without tension, there is no progress; without progress, there is only stagnation. Problems represent our greatest opportunity to elevate every true, good, and beautiful aspect of our humanity.”

“If there is one thing that I’ve learned time and time again it’s that nothing is impossible. A thing only seems impossible until someone does it… Once you change your mindset from one of scarcity to a mindset of abundance, you begin to think of potentials and possibilities rather than the things that can’t be done. You start to see the world in a very different way. And others, thus inspired, will join you.”

- 2 Coaching Questions -

  • What have you been tolerating in your life because it’d be “too hard” or take too much effort to fix it?

  • What is your “impossible” goal for 2022? What goal have you set that would is so far “out there” that’d it be damn near crazy if you accomplished it?

Coach nudge: What would you need from yourself and others in order to actualize this goal?

- 2 Affirmations -

  • I am beginning to feel comfortable being uncomfortable.

  • All the resources I need to build my dream life are available to me.
