“It can be hard to know what to tell your monkey mind when it’s dwelling in the past or spinning into the future… Practicing presence helps us do as spiritual teacher Ram Dass advised and ‘be here now.’”

- 2 Questions -

  • Sometimes we need to remember that everyone is “messy" in her own respect. That one woman’s tidy house doesn’t always reflect her scattered emotions. And that your un-dusted bathroom floor doesn’t reflect your worthiness as a mother. “How are you feeling less than, what do you need to feel whole?”

  • Often times, when our minds wander toward the past or the future, it’s trying to shield or distract us in some way. Look for clues in the present to bring you back and help you understand what’s going on. “What am I trying to accomplish right here, right now?”

Coach nudge: Be curious and take the time to dig a little deeper.

- “What’s uncomfortable/unpleasant right now?”
- “What am I focusing on? What could I be focusing on?”
- “What can I do next?”

- 2 Affirmations -

  • We’re all a little messy and that’s okay.

  • I gently redirect my thoughts to right here, right now.
