Have you ever watched a super inspiring YouTube video, and days later, you can’t seem to recall what it was about or how it inspired you?

In this day and age, we’re constantly on the go. Trying to do as much as we can in as little time as possible. We binge on information (YouTube, TikTok, podcasts, blogs, etc.) and take in massive amounts of information, but we rarely take the time to sit with what we consume long enough for it to hold value.

What good is a fresh salad if we don’t allow it digest and our body the time to extract nutrients?

What good is planting a seed if we don’t nurture it long enough for roots to grow?

For better or for worse, we live in a “set it and forget it” age. Much like a good chili needs to simmer for hours to extract the flavors, so too must we sit in the results of our experiences— both positive and painful— to extract the lessons to live a meaningful and flavorful life.

  • Recall the seemingly “meaningless” activity you were doing 20 minutes ago. What small insight can you draw out of that task?

  • Sit with that insight for the next few minutes. (Yes, it may be uncomfortable. And yes, you have time to do this.) How can you apply that insight to the bigger picture of who you want to be?

- 2 Affirmations -

  • I make time to rest and digest both food and experiences

  • There is value in the positive and the painful

It’s About Damn Time by Lizzo— I know I’m late to the party with this one, but I just sat down and actually listened to the lyrics of Lizzo’s viral single “It’s about damn time.” This song is me TO THE T, right now. Subscriber First Name, blast this song and connect to the lyrics when you’re in need of a healing and hype-up at the same time.

Lion’s RoarI’m not a Buddhist, but I am spiritual and have a deep respect for different philosophies with tenets that ring true to me. Lion’s Roar is a great publication to glean insight on ways to view the world through the lens of self-study and non-judgement.
