When I think of reflection, the first thing that comes to mind is a mirror (obvi). The mirror is an unbiased, objective tool that shows you, you exactly as you are without judgement. When we reflect on the past, we must do so without judgement and for the purpose of self-study and improvement.
The goal is to draw out the lesson through reflection. And just like Tony Robbins said above, we must put in the work and put in the reps in order to do so.
It’s well known that we make the same mistake over and over again until we actually learn the lesson. So let’s get intentional about our experiences and put them to work.
I want you to bring to mind a past experience in which you felt disappointed. Use the following prompts to reflect and learn:
What was the experience and what did believe about the world in that moment?
If you could Marty McFly that bish, what would you tell your younger self to do differently? What would make sure s/he did again?
- 2 Affirmations -
I choose to give purpose to my pain.
There is wisdom in my wounds.
