Fail Faster, Succeed Sooner

⏰ Mindset Minute

{May 30, 2023}

As a mindset coach, I've seen countless people struggle with a fear of failure.

Myself included.

This fear holds us back from taking risks, seeing things through, and ultimately, achieving their goals.

I’ll let you in on a little secret:

You can’t get to success without failing.

Look at babies. No baby has learned to walk without tripping and falling many times first.

It’s a fact of life and simply cannot be avoided or cheated.

5 ways to fail faster and succeed faster:

  1. Set clear objectives: Define your objectives and break them down into smaller, actionable steps. This will help you stay focused, track your progress, and identify areas where you need to improve.

  2. Establish kill criteria: Avoid the Sunk Cost fallacy (“I’ve come this far, I might as well keep going.”) by setting specific criteria to pivot/quit on a project you will conserve time, resources and energy to put toward another venture with a higher success rate.

  3. Reflect on the data: Take the time to analyze your results and outcomes to identify what went wrong and what went right. Use these insights to refine your approach and increase your chances of success in the future.

  4. Celebrate small wins: Validate the seemingly small victories. This will help you stay motivated, build momentum, and deepen a positive attitude towards failure and success.

  5. Surround yourself with supportive people: Build a network of like-minded individuals who share your passion for growth and success. These people can provide encouragement, advice, and support during your journey.

Failing faster is not about seeking failure for the sake of failure.

It's about embracing the opportunities for growth that (inevitably) come with setbacks and using them as fuel on your journey toward success.

Remember, the path to success is paved with failures.

So, go ahead, my love, fail forward and fail faster – your future depends on it.
